Garda Tweet - 'Driver is toast now'
Driver is toast
Gardaí stopped a car in Skerries, County Dublin during the week with no rear tyre!
Not only did the guards discover this extremely dangerous vehicle being driven by this reckless motorist but they also discover a number of other traffic offences.
After pulling the car over for the bazaar traffic offence of not having a rear tyre, the Skerries Gardaí discovered that the car had no insurance, had no tax and no NCT.
A post on the Garda twitter account said: "Driver is toast now." This was obviously a reference to a a sliced loaf of bread on the front seat.
We can almost be certain that the driver regrets going to the shops for a sliced pan!
In light of this latest discovery by the Gardaí, they have called for motorists to take responsibility to ensure their cars are roadworthy.
"The risk the driver took in driving a car with no tyre is ridiculous. Sub-standard tyres reduce road handling and increase braking distance. Drivers are responsible to make sure the car is roadworthy."
