IRISH USED CAR MARKET OVERVIEW FOR FEBRUARY 2022
Car Sales February 2022
The 2017 Diesel Volkswagen Passsat was the best-selling car in the Republic of Ireland during the month of February at Independent dealerships.
The 2014 Petrol Volkswagen Polo came in second place with the 2016 Volkswagen Passat coming in third place at Independent dealerships.
We see hybrid vehicles coming into the top-ten list for Independent dealers. In Eight place is the 2018 Hybrid Bmw 5 series, Diesel continues to be the most popular engine type in Ireland.
The 2021 Petrol Volkswagen Polo was by far the best-selling car at Franchise dealerships coming in both first and third place. The VW Polo, Kadjar, Tucson, Golf, Qashqai, Focus and Micra were all very popular cars at franchise dealerships.
The quickest-selling car at Independent dealerships in February was the 2008 Diesel Citroen C4 Picasso with the 2008 Petrol Mazda 6 coming in second. The quickest-selling car from the franchise dealers 2020 Diesel Peugeot 308 and the 2018 Petrol Mercedes-Benz A-Class coming in second place and also the Diesel version of the 2020 Diesel Ford Mondeo in third place.
The February report reveals that of the top ten cars sold privately, the 2011 Diesel Ford Focus was by far the most popular car in Ireland sold privately. The VW Golf came in second, third, fourth and ninth places.
Of the top-ten cars valued during the month of February was the 2020 Electric Mercedes-Benz EQC with the Audi A4 and the Diesel Volkswagen Golf coming in second and third place respectively.
