Seven Injured as Dublin Tour Bus Crashes Into Luas Tram
Seven Injured In Bus and Luas Collision
Seven people have been injured this afternoon when Dublin City Tour Bus crashed into a Luas Tram in Smithfield.
Dublin Fire Brigade have dispatched fire units and advanced paramedics to the scene. The NAS (National Ambulance Service) is also on the scene.
A Luas spokeswoman confirmed the number of injuries as seven and that the injuries were not considered life threatening. The spokeswoman had this to say, “Please expect delays. We apologise for any and all inconvenience caused.”
'There was glass everywhere...people were pretty shook'
One eye witness to the incident, Úna-Minh Kavanagh was at the Smithfield stop when the accident occurred.
“I had my headphones on and then I heard a massive bang and the sound of glass smashing, it looked like the tour bus hit the Luas and it continued moving for a bus so the entire side of the Luas was smashed,” she said...
...Then everyone just started helping people get off quickly. A lot of them were in shock and didn’t speak much but there were people at the very front were the driver was that couldn’t stand up so people moved back to give them space."
“But there was glass everywhere. I hope that people are ok. People were pretty shook.”
