Matt LeBlanc Leaves Top-Gear
Matt LeBlanc has announced that he will be leaving the iconic BBC show Top-Gear.
The former Friends star, LeBlanc has thanked viewers for tuning in to the show as he announced that he is stepping down from the BBC Two motoring programme
His final show will be aired this Sunday and as the episode and also the current series comes to an end, he said:
“Thank you all so much for watching.
“We’ve had a lot of fun making this series. Sometimes too much fun.”
“Good night,”
The show ends with a few outtakes from the series, showing LeBlanc fluffing lines and joking around in between takes.
Matt joined Top Gear in 2016 when he originally hosted alongside Chris Evans, who later quit the show amid criticism over his hosting style.
Since then, LeBlanc has been credited with giving the ailing show a boost at a time when some have feared that the show was on the wane.
He announced last year that he would be leaving because of the demands of the role and how much it kept him away from his family and friends back in the United States.
The last episode sees him chatting to his co-star Stephen Mangan with the pair enjoying some light-hearted banter with Mangan joking:
“He (LeBlanc) wasn’t that big in Friends. Chandler was my favourite.”
In the last episode, LeBlanc tries out an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, with Rory Reid testing the Rolls-Royce Phantom. It also comically sees Chris Harris explaining why he thinks a Ford Fiesta is better than a Lamborghini.
Paddy McGuinness will co-host with Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff when they take the wheel later this summer for its 27th series.
